DALLAS - Melissa Hull of Smock, Pa., has been selected as a grant recipient
of the Fallen Patriot Fund, established on April 16 by the Mark Cuban
Foundation, to help families of U.S. military personnel who were killed or
seriously injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Hull will receive
$15,000 from the Fund to assist with living expenses and raising her
children Mia, 3, and Dominic, 1, after her husband, Army Reservist Eric
Hull, 23, was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck a land mine in
Iraq Aug. 18.
Army Reservist Eric Hull was assigned to the 99th Regional Support
Command's 307th Military Police Company based in New Kensington.
"Thanks to this Fallen Patriot Fund grant I can be assured I will be able
to care for and provide a little extra for my kids," said Melissa Hull.
"Since their Dad was killed in Iraq it's been a struggle every day,
emotionally and physically, getting used to him not being here. Thanks to
contributors like the Fallen Patriot Fund, we will be able to live a little
easier knowing there are such great people in the world who care and will
help out."
