DALLAS – Army E-4 Specialist Adolfo Lopez-Santini,

selected as a grant recipient of the Fallen Patriot Fund, established on
April 16, 2003, by the Mark Cuban Foundation, to help families of U.S.
military personnel who were killed or seriously injured during Operation Iraqi
Freedom. This is the ninth grant the Fallen Patriot Fund has given to an injured
soldier.
Lopez-Santini received $40,000 from the
Foundation to assist with living expenses after a roadside bomb blew up the
humvee he was riding in on October 1, 2003. He lost his left eye, has
significant structural damage to his right hand and has limited use of the lower
part of his left leg. Lopez-Santini has a wife, Shannon, 36, a son,
Andrew, 1, and a daughter, Alexa, 2.
Lopez-Santini
was assigned to A Company, 4th
FSB, 4th Infantry Division, based in Fort Hood, TX.
“Words cannot adequately convey how much we
deeply appreciate this recognition and generous gift from the Mark Cuban
Foundation and the Fallen Patriot Fund,” said the Lopez-Santini family. “This
is truly a blessing and we feel so very honored. We thank those associated with
the Fund most sincerely because this grant has made such a difference in our
lives.”
